Heidi Kvelvane is a 24 year old  saxophonist with a bachelor degree in jazz from the Grieg Academy in Bergen. She now lives in Voss where she makes a living of music both on saxophone and accordion.  As an impulsive and enterprising musician, she has distinguished herself on the Norwegian improv scene in recent years. This has led to several international destinations the last years, including to Belgium where she played with the legendary Terrie Ex on guitar and the drum legend Han Bennink. Otherwise, she is known from projects with Per Zanussi, Paal Nilssen-Loves Large Unit, and Bergen big band, as well as own projects such as Bankvelv, and her own trio.

Heidi Kvelvane er saxofonist bosatt  på Voss der akkordion og folkemusikk óg er en del av hennes virke. Det er likevel som saxofonist hun har utmerket seg på den norske impro-scenen de siste årene.  Dette har ført til flere internasjonale  reisemål. Hun er kjent fra bla. Vestnorsk jazzensemble, Paal Nilssen-Loves Large Unit, og Bergen bigband, samt egne prosjekter som Bankvelv og sin egen trio. Med tydelig forankring i fri-jazz og åpenbar påvirkning fra folkemusikk, er resultatet drivende fraser og melodiske lydlandskap.
